God's own Spirit is working within our limitations, our consciousness and within our memory to correct and sustain the right recollection of the truth and unity of apostolic teaching.p. 128:
One who pits tradition against Scripture or faith against charity has already lost touch with the orthodox sense of balance that the Holy Spirit is encouraging by helping the believer remember Scripture rightly and read its message faithfully within ever new historical contexts.

Werd je geïnspireerd door het artikel van Reinier Sonneveld in het ND vandaag, of ben je met heel andere zaken bezig?
Zou kunnen he? Ik was dit boek van Oden al aan het lezen, en kwam deze koots tegen die me aanspraken. Wellicht geinspireerd door wat Reinier S. in het ND schreef. Dat zou zomaar kunnen.
Ik vond het trouwens een opvallend citaat van een methodist. Ik waardeer deze 'katholieke' opvatting.
